Chai Pecan Oat Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Porridge

01 - 2/3 cup finely chopped pecans, toasted
02 - 2 teaspoons chai spice blend
03 - 1 cup steel cut oats
04 - ½ cup raisins (optional)
05 - ½ cup heavy cream or swap with extra milk
06 - Pinch of salt
07 - 2 tablespoons melted butter
08 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
09 - 2 cups milk
10 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

→ Cinnamon Sugar Topping

11 - ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
12 - 2 tablespoons white sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9- or 10-inch round dish lightly with grease. A deep pie dish works great too.
02 - Stir together steel cut oats, chopped pecans, chai spice blend, salt, maple syrup, and raisins in a big bowl.
03 - Add the milk, cream, vanilla, and butter to the bowl of dry mix. Stir until everything is combined smoothly.
04 - Transfer the mixture into your greased baking dish. Make sure the top is evened out.
05 - Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl, and then evenly scatter it over the mixture in the baking dish.
06 - Pop it in the middle of the oven and bake for about 55-60 minutes, or until the upper crust looks golden and crunchy.
07 - Take it out, scoop into bowls, and pair it with toppings you like – maybe milk, maple syrup, cream, or fresh fruit.

# Notes:

01 - If you’re using rolled oats instead of steel cut ones, cut the cooking time down to 30-40 minutes since they cook quicker.
