01 -
Set your oven to 350°F and let it warm completely.
02 -
Place parchment paper on a baking tray and leave it to the side.
03 -
Mix the almond flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and optional orange zest in a bowl. Leave it aside.
04 -
In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the egg whites with the vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
05 -
Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the dry mix, using a spatula, until you get a sticky dough.
06 -
Carefully stir the chocolate chips into your dough until evenly spread.
07 -
Spread sliced almonds on a flat surface. Scoop roughly two tablespoons of dough, roll it in almonds, and shape into a ball.
08 -
Place the dough balls in the oven's center and bake for 15–20 minutes. Edges should look golden, but the middle will still be pale.
09 -
Cool the cookies on the tray for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack for another 10 minutes.
10 -
Sprinkle powdered sugar over the cookies and enjoy!
