Garlic Butter Steak (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cajun seasoning mix

01 - 1/4 tsp dried thyme leaves
02 - 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
03 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
04 - 1/2 tsp packed brown sugar
05 - 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, adjust as needed
06 - 1/2 tsp oregano (dried)
07 - 1 tsp onion powder
08 - 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
09 - 1 Tbsp smoked paprika

→ Steak pieces

10 - 1 1/2 lbs. steak (ribeye, sirloin, strip, etc.)
11 - 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
12 - 5 cloves garlic, grated or finely chopped
13 - 2 Tbsp cooking oil, used in two portions
14 - Fresh parsley, chopped for sprinkling

# Instructions:

01 - Cut your steak into about 2-inch chunks. Toss them into a mixing bowl for seasoning later.
02 - Stir the smoked paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, black pepper, brown sugar, onion powder, thyme, and cayenne together in one small bowl.
03 - Dump the seasoning blend into the bowl with the steak and toss everything together until the pieces are well coated.
04 - Set a heavy skillet on medium-high heat. Let it warm up until you spot a bit of smoke.
05 - Pour half the vegetable oil into the hot skillet and swirl it around. Put half the steak pieces in, making sure they don’t overcrowd. Sear for 2 minutes untouched, flip, and sear another 2 minutes. Remove these, repeat the steps with the last oil and meat batch.
06 - Turn the heat down to medium-low and keep using that skillet. Melt your butter, then throw in the garlic. Let it cook for 30 seconds while gently scraping up the browned bits with a wooden spoon.
07 - Switch off the stove, return the steak bites to the skillet, and stir them around so they’re evenly coated in all that saucy goodness.
08 - Serve it up hot, topped with a sprinkle of fresh parsley.

# Notes:

01 - If you prefer smaller chunks, cut steak into 1-inch pieces, and shorten cook time.
02 - Feel free to tweak the Cajun seasoning mix based on your taste.
