Heavenly Layers Trifle (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
02 - 16 oz. of whipped cream (store-bought is fine, or you can whip up your own)
03 - 1 King-Sized Heath bar (crushed for the final topping)
04 - 22 oz. caramel syrup
05 - 8 oz. of crunchy Heath English Toffee Bits
06 - 1 box of Devil's Food cake mix (use the instructions on the package to bake the cake)

# Instructions:

01 - Mix the Devil's Food cake batter together by following the directions listed on the box. This will usually require you to combine the mix with eggs, water, and oil. Pour it into a pan and bake it. Make sure you don't overbake it—keeping the cake moist is key!
02 - After it's baked, give the cake a few minutes to cool down. Cut the cake into little squares while it's still kind of warm but no longer hot. The warmth will let the cake soak up the sweetened condensed milk a lot more easily.
03 - Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over all the cake pieces. Make sure every square gets some. Let it sit for a bit so the milk can soak all the way through.
04 - Take about a third of the soaked cake and put it on the bottom of your trifle dish. Spread it out evenly to create a solid base for the other layers you'll add.
05 - Spread a third of your whipped cream over the cake in an even layer. Then drizzle one-third of the caramel syrup on top of that. Lastly, sprinkle on a generous handful of Heath English Toffee Bits to finish the layer.
06 - Repeat the steps until you've added two more layers of cake, whipped cream, caramel, and toffee. Don't worry if the layers aren't perfect. It'll still taste amazing!
07 - Crush the King-Sized Heath bar into little bits and sprinkle it all over the top of your final whipped cream layer.
08 - Cover the top of the dish with plastic wrap or a lid, then pop it in the fridge. Let it chill for at least two hours so the flavors can meld together. The longer, the better!

# Notes:

01 - For the best results, make sure the cake is moist so it soaks up the sweetened condensed milk nicely.
02 - Homemade whipped cream? Get it to the stiff peak stage so it layers easily.
03 - Layers don't have to be picture-perfect—this dessert should look a little rustic and fun!
04 - If you've got leftovers, keep them in the fridge in a sealed container and finish within two days.
