Chicken Garlic Shawarma (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Chicken Ingredients

01 - 2 pounds of chicken thighs or breasts, boneless and skinless
02 - 1 tsp of ground coriander
03 - 1/2 tsp each of cinnamon and turmeric
04 - 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper
05 - A pinch of salt and as much pepper as you'd like
06 - 1 tbsp of cumin powder
07 - 1/2 tsp of powdered ginger
08 - A tablespoon of lemon juice
09 - A teaspoon of paprika
10 - 2 tbsp of olive oil

→ Garlic Sauce Ingredients

11 - A cup of plain Greek yogurt
12 - 1 tbsp of lemon juice
13 - 2 minced garlic cloves
14 - 1/2 tsp of cumin powder
15 - Season to taste with salt and pepper
16 - Fresh parsley to sprinkle on top

# Instructions:

01 - In a big bowl, mix the chicken with all the spices, lemon juice, olive oil, and some salt and pepper. Stir everything well until it's all coated. Cover the bowl and pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes or overnight if you can wait.
02 - Turn on your grill to medium-high. Place the chicken on and cook it 4-5 minutes per side. You want it fully cooked with a little char here and there for that smoky flavor.
03 - Grab a small bowl and mix the yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and some salt and pepper. Stir it all together until smooth and creamy.
04 - Chop the grilled chicken into thin strips. Serve right away with the garlic sauce on the side. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top to make it pop.

# Notes:

01 - A longer marinating time makes the chicken even tastier.
02 - Threading the chicken onto skewers before grilling gives it that traditional vibe.
03 - It pairs great with warm pita, some lettuce, tomato slices, and onion rings.
04 - Feel free to add more or less garlic in the sauce to suit your taste.
