Ground Beef Sweet Kick (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup (60g) buffalo sauce
02 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
05 - 1 teaspoon ground ginger
06 - 1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
07 - 1/2 tablespoon chili oil or olive oil
08 - 2 tablespoons (30g) rice vinegar
09 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
10 - 1/2 cup (96g) dark brown sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Stir all the sauce ingredients in a bowl until it’s smooth. Put it aside while you prep the beef.
02 - Warm a wide pan on medium-high heat. Pour in the oil, and sear the beef for about 1-2 minutes on each side. Crumble it into pieces and finish cooking it through.
03 - Drizzle the sauce over the cooked beef, and gently stir. Let it sit still for 30-60 seconds so the sauce starts to stick to the bottom of the pan. Toss again until the meat gets coated and develops crispy pieces.
04 - Scoop it over your choice of noodles or rice. Sprinkle on sesame seeds and green onions for extra flavor.

# Notes:

01 - These nutrition facts are for dark brown sugar and extra lean 96/4 ground beef. Swapping for low-carb sweetener can trim down carbs and calories.
02 - Want fresher flavors? Trade garlic powder and ground ginger for minced fresh garlic and ginger. Sauté them in some oil before adding the sauce.
03 - You can add veggies by cooking them before mixing in the sauce. Or, serve alongside roasted veggies or a crisp cucumber salad for a balanced meal.
