01 - 1½ lbs ground beef (80/20 recommended)
02 - Salt and black pepper to taste
03 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 4 slices cheddar cheese
05 - 4 hamburger buns, toasted

→ For the Toppings

06 - 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
07 - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
08 - 1 tomato, sliced
09 - Lettuce leaves

→ For the Burger Sauce

10 - ¼ cup mayonnaise
11 - 1 tablespoon ketchup
12 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
13 - 1 teaspoon pickle juice (optional)
14 - Pinch of paprika or cayenne (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice and paprika in small bowl. Refrigerate until needed.
02 - Divide beef into 4 equal portions. Gently form patties slightly larger than buns (they'll shrink). Season both sides with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
03 - Preheat grill to medium-high (400°F/200°C). Grill patties 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. Add cheese during last minute to melt.
04 - Place buns cut-side down on grill for 30-60 seconds until lightly toasted.
05 - Spread sauce on bottom buns. Layer lettuce, tomato, burger patty, avocado and red onion. Top with bun.
06 - Enjoy immediately with sides of choice.

# Notes:

01 - Avocado tip: Sprinkle with lime juice to prevent browning if prepping ahead.
02 - Alternative patties: Works well with turkey, chicken or plant-based burgers.
03 - Doneness guide: 160°F (71°C) internal temperature for food safety.
